The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) is a Research Centre of Excellence (RCE) whose mission is to conduct interdisciplinary theoretical and experimental research into the fundamental limits to information processing.

Working in a highly creative environment, you will be responsible for supporting, managing and monitoring IT infrastructures; which may include, network and communication services, infrastructure services, application services, research support, and audio/visual services.

Responsibilites:

* Provide direct user-support for Linux, Mac and Microsoft desktops/laptops and related peripherals (PDA, Printers, Smart-phones) * Provide direct support for onsite and remote troubleshooting of software applications and networking access. * Provide direct support for services such as office phones, video conferencing, and remote access. * Provide direct support for Centre’s corporate resources and applications. * Provide direct support for IT needs during Centre’s events (e.g. conferences, talks) * Provide supporting role on day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of Centre’s IT infrastructure * Provide a basic IT training courses for non IT staff

Requirements:

* Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or equivalent experience. Technical certifications (MCSA, CCNA, RHCE, etc) will be advantageous. * At least 1 year of Linux/UNIX desktop support experience preferred. Apple Macintosh experience would be a definite plus. * Familiarity in deploying and supporting desktops/laptops, phone systems, video conferencing and various wireless devices. * Experience with applications in a Linux and Microsoft networked environment * Strong understanding of LAN/Wireless and mobile computing environments. * Basic skills in programming (Java or C) and scripting (perl/python/php/ruby) * Able to converse fluently in English.
